New en.lighten website
The UNEP/GEF en.lighten initiative has restructured and redesigned its website. The new site provides users with relevant, easy to access, clear and current information on the initiative and its related efforts. The new layout makes navigation easier and communicates pertinent information to all stakeholders involved in the transition to energy-efficient lighting.
The aim of the newly designed website is to distribute and disseminate energy-efficient lighting information within a global, regional and local context. It will raise awareness and educate users on the UNEP/GEF en.lighten initiatives’ objectives and activities, and act as a medium to maintain and enhance the projects’ visibility and promote its vision of a global phase-out of inefficient lighting by 2016.
On the new site, there is also key information to support countries, such as; the Global Partnership Program, Country Lighting Assessments with an interactive map and resources such as; issues of the popular e-newsletter and publications. Website users can also find valuable news items and event reports, as well as a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions.
